What you can do

Utility records show how your water left the treatment plant. They don’t show what happens inside your home’s pipes, where things like lead, hardness, and chlorine taste come from. An in-home water test is the only way to know what’s coming out of your tap.

Thanks — a My House Water specialist will reach out shortly to walk you through your results and options, including a free in-home water test.

Common questions

Where does this data come from?

From the U.S. EPA’s Safe Drinking Water Information System, which tracks testing and violations reported by every public water system. We show the past 10 years.

Does a violation mean my water is unsafe?

Not always. Many violations are for late or missed testing and paperwork. “Health-based” violations are the ones where a contaminant exceeded a federal limit or required treatment wasn’t followed. Your report labels each one.

I’m on a private well. Can you help?

Private wells aren’t regulated or tested by the EPA, so there are no public records. Testing is the only way to know what’s in well water.

Is this really free?

Yes. The report is free, with no obligation.

My House Water is an independent service. We are not affiliated with any water utility or government agency. Reports use public EPA records, which can lag behind a utility’s most recent results. For your utility’s latest annual water quality report, contact your utility directly.
